The countdown has begun with only 2 weeks to go until we welcome our senior level delegates, esteemed speakers and sponsors to The Anti-Money Laundering Forum in Frankfurt on 12th September.

Located on the picturesque river Main, the city is known for its stunning futuristic skyline and for being the business and finance capital of Europe, it is also host to the busiest airport in Germany. With this in mind we have put together a comprehensive guide to keep you up-to-date on the latest travel notifications, event news and possible points of interest for your stay in the city.

With registration opening at the Frankfurt Marriott Hotel from 8:00am and the Chair’s Address beginning at 8:45a,, here are resources for the latest traffic announcements to Frankfurt to avoid any potential delays:

Train and Subway

If travelling to Frankfurt by train, you’ll need to get a connection from Frankfurt Central Station to our venue’s nearest Metro (subway) station Messe/Festhalle U4, which is just half a kilometre away.
As there are no direct routes via the subway, travellers would take a combination of either U-Bahn (trams and underground lines), S-Bahn (suburban rail) or overline trains from Frankfurt Central Station that would take around half an hour in total and cost 4,95 € each way. For ease of use, it is recommended to download the RMV app onto your phone (from Google Play or App Store) as it comes with a navigation service and takes online payments. Additionally, for business travellers needing to declare expenses, the app automatically saves all of your receipts.
You can book other train tickets via Rail Europe or with the Deutsche Bahn here and find help and information at the Tourist Information Help Desk located inside the main station depot.

Bus

Just a few minutes away from our venue are two bus stops – Festhalle/Messe (bus numbers Bus n2, Bus 50, STR 16, U 4, STR 17) and Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage (bus numbers Bus 50, STR 16 or STR 17).

Car

If you’d like to arrive to our event in your own vehicle, please note that the venue can provide further information on off-site parking at a daily rate of 37 € or consider the Park + Ride options via the PundR.Hessen.de website. Click here to download the Frankfurt Marriott Hotel venue map and driving directions.

Plane

You can track the latest live departure and arrival updates and flight information from European and other international airports to Frankfurt Airport (FRA) and Frankfurt Hahn Airport (FHN) via FlightStats.
For those flying from the UK, please be aware that British Airways recently announced industrial action by the pilots’ union, BALPA, which means there will be a strike on the 9th, 10th and 27th of September. For more details about this particular matter, please visit this British Airways web page which has further information and helpful FAQs.

Taxi

Probably the quickest method from Frankfurt Airport, it takes 15 minutes and costs 30 EUR each way (whereas from Frankfurt Hahn Airport it would cost you 180 EUR one way).
For practical information on hiring one of the city’s pale beige coloured taxis, obtaining a “Frankfurt Card” (an unlimited 24 hour travel card at 22 € for public transport which offers 50% off entry into museums, tours and attractions – a great option for groups of up to 5 people); or the best routes to take from local airports, please visit the Frankfurt Tourism’s website here. Alternatively, below are a couple of local 24/7 taxi numbers for Frankfurt: +49 (0)69 73 30 30, +49 (0)69 23 00 01, +49 (0)69 97 07 49 80 or try booking online via taxi.de or a ride sharing app of your choice.

Bike

Fun fact: You can explore the city by bike with the Frankfurt Call A Bike service which is run by Deutsche Bahn and operates by phone call or mobile application.

Other travel options…

Whilst there are trade fairs on at Messe Frankfurt (which is a 15 minute walk away from our venue), there is a shuttle bus which runs every 15 minutes from the bus station in Frankfurt Airport Terminal 1 via Terminal 2 to the exhibition grounds.

Good to know

You may encounter a local “Tourism Fee” of 2,00 € if staying in a Hotel or Airbnb. The City of Frankfurt has been levying a tourism fee for overnight stays since January 2018, however this fee shouldn’t be applicable to anyone staying in the city for business reasons.

While we expect most of our attendees to arrive on the morning of the event and departing after the drinks reception, if you are planning to spend a few extra days in the bustling capital, why not take in some of the local sites and attractions.

Please visit our website to view the full event agenda and information and for further details on how to get to the Frankfurt Marriott Hotel please visit their website at marriott.co.uk.
